LED Screen Tour Johnny Hallyday: A Legendary Final Tour
Johnny Hallyday inspired several generations of fans throughout an exceptional career. A true icon of French rock, nicknamed “Le Taulier” (“The Boss”), he was to France what Elvis Presley was to the United States. Renowned for his powerful voice, timeless songs and spectacular performances, Johnny always placed the live experience at the heart of his art.
For his final tour, “Rester Vivant”, he once again pushed the technical limits of live performance. Beginning in July 2016 at the Festival de Nîmes, the tour remains the final major show of a French music legend.
The Largest Moving LED Screen Ever Designed
Six giant suspended LED screens moved in perfect synchronization with the show’s staging. Together, they formed the largest moving LED screen ever designed, covering 168 m² and weighing 4.5 tonnes.
Each screen featured XENON (a range since succeeded by Ayrgon 2 and Beryl) cabinets, Artixium’s flagship touring solution at the time. Lightweight at just 12 kg, robust and easy to handle, they met the demanding technical requirements of a touring production. Triangular modules were also incorporated to create a seamless and uniform visual effect.
Two additional curved screens with a resolution of 4096 × 756 pixels completed the stage design, further enhancing the audience’s visual immersion. Artixium is proud to have contributed to a technological tribute worthy of this legendary artist.
All About the Rester Vivant Tour
The LED Screen Tour Johnny Hallyday Set-Up in Detail
The LED screen tour Johnny Hallyday project gave the “Rester Vivant” tour a stage design on the scale of the artist: from July 2016, the show travelled across France, Belgium and Switzerland with the largest moving LED screen ever designed.
Six suspended screens in motion. Six giant LED screens hung above the stage and moved in perfect synchronisation with the staging. Together they covered 168 m² for a total weight of 4.5 tonnes.
Touring cabinets. Each screen used XENON cabinets weighing just 12 kg, robust and easy to handle, to meet the technical demands of a travelling production. Triangular modules completed the screens to create a seamless, uniform visual effect.
Curved screens for immersion. Two additional curved screens with a resolution of 4096 × 756 pixels completed the stage design and wrapped the audience in the show’s visuals.
Why Choose Moving LED Screens for a Concert?
Moving LED screens add a new dimension to a concert. As they rise, descend or come together, the stage itself changes shape, creating surprise effects that are impossible with a fixed backdrop.
This kind of scenography requires lightweight cabinets, so the total weight remains compatible with motorised rigging, and precise synchronisation between movement, lighting and video content. Custom shapes, such as triangular modules, help the screens match the artistic vision perfectly, as on the LED screen tour Johnny Hallyday stage.
The XENON range has since been succeeded by Ayrgon 2 and Beryl. Discover our event LED displays, contact our team about your show, or read more about the artist on Wikipedia.
