The short answer

How much does an LED screen cost?

€990 – €6,000

per m², equipment only, excl. VAT

A professional LED screen usually costs between €990 and €6,000 per square metre for the equipment alone. The gap comes mainly from the pixel pitch (the distance between two LEDs, which sets the resolution), indoor or outdoor use, the brightness required and the cabinet series. A 2 × 1 m indoor LED wall starts at a few thousand euros. A stadium-scale outdoor screen can go beyond €100,000.

An LED screen is made of cabinets assembled to your dimensions, so its cost follows the surface area: you start from a price per square metre and multiply it by the screen size. That is the calculation the calculator above makes.

Our team’s quote sets the firm price: cabinet series, video processor, structure, delivery, installation and commissioning. Indoor vs outdoor LED screen prices

Fine pitch LED video wall in a control room

Indoor LED screen price

Indoors, the range goes from standard-pitch LED walls (retail, meeting rooms) to fine pitch screens for control rooms, broadcast studios and lobbies. The screen needs neither weather sealing nor high brightness, which keeps the cost down. The finest pitches, made for close viewing, do carry the highest price per m² of any category.

Outdoor LED screen price

Outdoors (façades, DOOH, digital billboards, stadiums), the screen must stay readable in daylight and withstand the weather: high brightness, IP sealing front and rear, ventilation, reinforced cabinets. Large panels use a wider pitch and cost less per m². Fine pitch outdoor screens, viewed up close, sit at the top of the range.

Fine pitch indoor LED screen: close-up of an eye showing image detail
What you specify

Screen size and total area

The budget follows the surface area: more square metres means more cabinets, more video processing and more structure. The price per m² often drops on large formats.

Pixel pitch and viewing distance

The finer the pitch (P1.5, P2.6, P4…), the more LEDs per m² and the higher the price. Choose it from the real distance of the closest viewer.

Indoor or outdoor

An outdoor screen needs high brightness, certified IP sealing and reinforced cabinets. At a comparable pitch, it costs more than an indoor screen.

What that dictates in the product

Brightness and image processing

Readability in full sunlight (5,000 to 8,000 nits), a high refresh rate or advanced image processing cost more than a standard indoor panel.

Cabinets and modules

The cabinet material, service access (front or rear) and module quality affect both the purchase price and the total cost of ownership.

Control system and content

A complete installation includes a video processor, receiving cards, often redundancy, and content sources.

What it takes to install

Mounting structure and integration

Wall-mounted, recessed, suspended, floor-standing, freestanding or custom: each setup needs its own engineering and fixings.

Installation, access and maintenance

Site access, work at height and ease of servicing affect the installation cost, then the maintenance budget.

Transport and on-site services

Delivery, project location and on-site commissioning are priced case by case.

Installation

The four ways to mount a screen

The mounting type sets the structure, and also how technicians reach the modules for servicing. A screen fixed flat against a wall or recessed has no rear access, so servicing is from the front. Suspended or freestanding setups often leave the choice open. This servicing mode steers the cabinet series, and therefore the price of the screen, well beyond the cost of the fixings.

Wall-mounted

Fixed to an existing wall or supporting frame. This is the most common setup.

Usually front maintenance

02

Recessed

Built into a wall or opening, flush with the surface.

Front maintenance required

03

Suspended

Hung from a suitable structure with certified rigging points.

Front or rear maintenance

04

Freestanding

On a unipole, legs or a dedicated totem: the structure carries the screen to the ground.

Rear maintenance possible

FAQ

LED screen price: frequently asked questions

Artixium showroom near Lyon, where you can compare displays before working out your LED screen price

No. The calculator gives an indicative range for the equipment, excluding VAT. The firm price depends on the LED technology chosen, the pixel pitch, brightness, structure, control system, site access, transport and installation. Click “Request a quote” in the calculator: your configuration goes with the request and our team sends you a detailed quote.

A professional LED screen usually costs between €990 and €6,000 per square metre, so the total depends on the surface area, pixel pitch and indoor or outdoor use. A small indoor LED wall starts at a few thousand euros; a large outdoor video wall reaches tens of thousands of euros. The calculator above works out a range for your exact size.

It depends on the mounting type and site access. Wall mounting is the simplest. Recessed, suspended, floor-standing or freestanding setups need more engineering, lifting and fixings. Structure, transport and installation are priced for each project, which is why the calculator only shows the equipment.

A professional LED screen is designed to run for tens of thousands of hours. Artixium warrants its screens for up to 5 years and provides technical support from France.

Yes. Artixium designs and supplies the structure with the screen, from a simple wall frame to a freestanding structure or a custom architectural build. We work with metal fabricators, so the frame is sized from the start for the cabinets it carries.

At a comparable pitch, yes. An outdoor screen needs much higher brightness (often 5,000 to 8,000 nits), full IP sealing and reinforced cabinets. A very fine pitch indoor screen, made for close viewing, can still cost more per m² than a large outdoor screen.

Pixel pitch is the distance between two LEDs. The finer it is (P1.5, P2.6, P4…), the more LEDs per square metre, the higher the resolution and the higher the price. Choosing the pitch from the real viewing distance is one of the best ways to stay on budget.

As a guide, the LED screen price per m² is €990 to €3,200 for standard-pitch indoor screens, €3,000 to €6,000 for fine pitch indoor screens, €2,200 to €4,200 for high-brightness outdoor screens, €1,190 to €2,600 for large-format outdoor screens and €2,000 to €4,000 for event screens. These ranges are for a first estimate, not for setting the cost of a project.

An Artixium quote covers the LED cabinets or modules, receiving cards, a video processor or control system, cabling and a recommended spare parts kit. Depending on the project, it adds the structure, delivery, on-site installation and commissioning.

Yes. Artixium delivers its screens in France and abroad and supports customers on site. Installation is handled by Artixium through its network of integrators.

Start from the distance of the closest viewer. A common rule: the minimum viewing distance in metres roughly matches the pitch in millimetres (a P4 screen works from about 4 m). A finer pitch than you need raises the price with no visible gain. The calculator suggests a pitch from the distance you enter.

Yes. Our 500 m² showroom in Vaulx-en-Velin, near Lyon, shows our screens running. Visits are by appointment, so you can compare pitches and image quality before you settle on a budget.
