Karting LED display

A karting LED display shows live timing, start lights and race flags: it must stay readable in direct sunlight and follow the race without blur. Artixium designs these LED displays for karting circuits and motorsport venues, and is the official LED display supplier to the FFSA French Karting Championship.

Which LED displays for a karting circuit?

Artixium is the official LED screen supplier to the FFSA French Karting Championship. Most of what a circuit needs is not one screen but a set of trackside displays that share the same timing feed.

Live timing and ranking screens

The screen that replaces the hand-updated board. Positions, lap times, gaps and session state are pushed straight from the timing software, so a driver reads their place between two laps instead of waiting for the end of the session.

The screen replaces the board somebody used to update by hand. It carries positions, lap times and gaps, refreshed each time a kart crosses the loop, and it has to be read from the grandstand and from the track at once: two very different distances that end up setting a compromise pitch.

What makes it work is the link to your timing software rather than the panel: the display takes the live feed and renders it without an operator standing over it. We build these on outdoor scoreboard cabinets such as the Cobalt Scoreboard, rated to stay trackside all year.

LED start light sequences

The start sequence runs on the same surface as the classification. A LED panel shows the full sequence, then hands the screen back to the timing display, where a fixed light gantry can only ever say one thing.

Running the start sequence on the same surface as the classification takes a separate light rig off the circuit. It has to be unambiguous from every position on the grid, read at a glance, with no perceptible delay between the signal and what the drivers see.

That puts the requirement on refresh rate and on the control chain rather than on resolution: the sequence is driven from race control and mirrored on every screen at once, so drivers and marshals see the same state at the same instant. The panels are the same outdoor cabinets as the timing screen (a Cobalt or a Thorite 3), so the circuit keeps one set of spares, not two.

LED signal flags

Yellow, blue and red flags shown on LED rather than waved by a marshal at a post. The signal is identical around the whole circuit and changes the instant race control decides.

Yellow, blue and red shown on LED rather than waved by hand reach the whole track at once, including the sections a marshal cannot see from their post. Colour then has to be exact and stable: a yellow that drifts towards green in direct sun is a safety problem, not a cosmetic one.

We calibrate these panels so flag colours hold across the whole installation and across the day, and the same screens carry timing between incidents: one surface doing two jobs. Where a panel sits close to a corner and is read at short range, the finer pitch of the Silicium earns its place. Calibration is part of commissioning, not an option afterwards.

Mobile LED trailers

A screen that arrives on wheels: a road-legal trailer that deploys at the trackside, for a circuit without a fixed screen, a race meeting on a temporary site, or a screen shared between several tracks.

A trailer screen is a road vehicle first and a display second. It has to arrive road-legal, deploy on uneven ground beside the track, hold its angle in wind, and stay readable in full daylight from the grandstand.

These builds use IP-rated outdoor cabinets on a hydraulic frame: high-brightness and front-serviceable, so a fault is cleared on site rather than back at the depot. The screen can carry the same live timing feed as a fixed installation. Since no two chassis are alike, it is drawn around the trailer as a custom project.

Where it goes

We build LED for every kind of karting track

Artixium equips rental tracks, racing circuits and leisure complexes. Sites where the screen’s first job is to run the race: standings, start, safety.

Leisure track

Sessions run back to back all day: the standings have to update on their own.

We specify from reading distance and exposure: standings have to stay legible from the track, in full sun as in the rain.

Racing circuit

Lap times to the thousandth, read from the track and the pits, race after race.

We connect the screen to your timing software, so standings update on their own, session after session, with no operator.

Night sessions

A floodlit track and a screen that must stay legible without dazzling the drivers.

And we know the sport: Artixium is a partner of FFSA Karting.

Apex Timing compatible

Why choose Artixium for a karting LED display?

Artixium equips karting circuits across France and is the official LED screen supplier to the FFSA French Karting Championship.

Official LED screen supplier to the FFSA French Karting Championship, with dedicated terms for affiliated circuits.

The screens read the timing software the circuits already run. Rankings, lap times, gaps and session states reach the trackside display without a second system to operate.

10 000 nits

Bright enough to stay readable in direct sunlight, which is the condition that decides whether a trackside screen is used or ignored on a clear afternoon.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Depending on the solution, brightness reaches up to 10,000 nits, which keeps the display clear in direct sun, from the grandstand as well as from the track.

Not at the refresh rates these cabinets run. Fast refresh captures karts and cars without motion blur, which also matters for the TV crew taking the feed.

Yes. Depending on your installation and software, the screen shows rankings, lap times, gaps, start procedures and safety messages, updated live.

Yes. Circuit screens are built for demanding outdoor use. Depending on the product and configuration, they are protected against water, dust and the strain of running outdoors, season after season.

Yes. Artixium offers an Apex Timing integration that puts race data straight onto your screens: rankings, lap times, session information and start procedures.

Two variables drive it: surface area, and whether the screen is indoor or outdoor. An IP-rated trackside cabinet on a mast costs considerably more than an indoor panel on a wall, before the structure is counted. Send your track and the intended position and we will scope it against your budget rather than around it.

Yes, and most circuits do exactly that. We keep spare cabinets from the same production batch so a second screen added two seasons later still matches the first. That only works if the extension is anticipated at the first order, so tell us the plan even if the budget is not there yet.

Maintenance mainly covers cleaning, visual inspection, software updates and, when needed, module replacement. Warranty and maintenance options are set per project.
