Frequently asked questions
Which LED display services does Artixium offer?
Seven services cover the life of a display: custom design, on-site installation, calibration, module repair, training for your teams, logistics and traceability. You can use one of these LED display services on its own or combine them on the same project.
Why choose a custom display?
When the site calls for a shape, size or integration that no standard product allows: a curved facade, triangular cabinets for a touring stage, a display laid on the floor. Pixel pitch, cabinet dimensions and mounting are then defined for the project, based on a survey of the real site. Our LED display services then take over for installation and follow-up.
Who installs the display on site?
Artixium works with a network of distributors, installers and integrators. We coordinate site preparation, mechanical assembly, cabling and configuration, then testing and commissioning. This coordination is part of our LED display services, for fixed and rental displays alike.
Why calibrate an LED display?
No two LED modules are identical. Calibration evens out brightness, colour temperature and uniformity from one module to the next. It matters most for rental displays, which combine modules from different origins, and for anything filmed on camera.
How does a repair work?
The faulty module is diagnosed, then repaired in our laboratory or replaced. Every return goes through a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA), so the part can be tracked until it is back in service. Maintenance contracts complete these LED display services for operators who want regular follow-up.
What does a training cover?
Training is part of our LED display services. The modules cover daily operation, maintenance and technical support, adapted to your team’s level. Each participant receives a training certificate, and we provide technical follow-up after the session.
How are displays shipped?
Logistics is one of our LED display services. Depending on the use, displays travel in recyclable wooden crates or in flight cases. Every order leaves from the same point of origin, and you follow its progress in one place until delivery.
What is traceability for?
Every module is identified by its serial number. This makes it possible to manage spare parts, follow returns and keep the display’s history across its whole lifecycle. Asset records stay available in one place for as long as the display is in service.
How often should a display be calibrated?
There is no fixed interval. A permanent indoor display in stable conditions can run for years without a new calibration. A rental fleet that is rigged, shipped and de-rigged dozens of times a year drifts much faster. Recalibrate when cabinets no longer match to the eye, and after any service work that adds new modules to the display.
Does a display on camera need special calibration?
Yes. A camera tolerates smaller differences than the human eye: it reveals variations between cabinets that nobody notices in the room, along with refresh and moiré effects. Displays for broadcast studios, virtual production or stadium perimeters are therefore calibrated for the capture conditions, not only for the lighting of the venue.
Does calibration fix dead pixels?
No. Among our LED display services, calibration corrects the luminance and colour of LEDs that work. A dead pixel, a failed driver or a damaged connector is a hardware fault: the module goes through repair first, then it is recalibrated so it blends into the rest of the display once refitted.
Where are repairs carried out?
Component-level work (LEDs, driver ICs, connectors, receiving cards) is done in our laboratory in Vaulx-en-Velin. When a fault can be solved on the installation itself, a technician travels to the site rather than having the cabinets taken down. Repaired modules are tested for power, signal, colour and brightness before they go back.
What does a maintenance contract cover?
Regular repair of Artixium products and selected third-party systems, over one or several years, with extensions available up to five years. Once the contract ends, you can still request repair or technical support case by case.
Do you work on displays from other brands?
Yes for calibration, provided the control system gives access to the correction data. For repair, our maintenance contracts cover Artixium products and selected third-party systems. Tell us the brand and model of your display and we will tell you which of our LED display services apply.
How do I request one of our LED display services?
Describe your display, where it is installed and what you need in the contact form: installation, calibration, repair or training. We come back to you with the next steps and, if the project requires it, a quote. If you can, give the display model and installation date: it speeds up the diagnosis.
