LED Screen Stage Lido: Artixium’s Complete Installation
On the Champs-Élysées, in the heart of the French capital, Le Lido has long embodied the elegance, glamour, and grandeur of French entertainment. Opened in 1946, this legendary cabaret amazed entire generations before announcing its closure in May 2022. With more than 500,000 visitors per year from around the world, Le Lido offered productions of exceptional scale.
Among the dizzying figures: 2 million crystals, 40,000 beads on a single chandelier, 200 kilos of feathers, 300 spotlights, an integrated ice rink, a 45-musician orchestra, 35 chefs and above all, 100 m² of LED screens to magnify the stage.
It was in this demanding setting that Artixium was called upon to provide the stage LED screens, combining two distinct technologies:
KRYPTON and HYDROGEN at Le Lido
The KRYPTON was specially designed for high-end indoor environments. Ultra-thin, lightweight and front-accessible, it allowed for considerable space savings thanks to the direct integration of the frame into the stage structure.
The HYDROGEN, meanwhile, remains one of the most customizable products ever developed by Artixium. Adapted to atypical shapes and mobile stage installations, it allowed maximum flexibility in designing the show’s visual effects.
All About Le Lido
The LED Screen Stage Lido Installation in Detail
The LED screen stage Lido project equipped one of the most famous cabarets in the world with 100 m² of LED screens, at the service of productions known for their scale and their attention to detail.
A main screen built into the stage. 252 KRYPTON cabinets formed the main screen. Ultra-thin, lightweight and accessible from the front, they were integrated directly into the stage structure, saving valuable space behind the scenes.
Two mobile side screens. 72 HYDROGEN cabinets made up two side screens able to move during the show. Highly customisable, HYDROGEN adapted to atypical shapes and mobile stage machinery.
Visuals worthy of the show. Combining these two technologies gave the artistic team maximum freedom to create visual effects that matched the costumes, lighting and choreography of each scene.
Why Choose an LED Screen for a Theatre or Cabaret Stage?
On a show stage, an LED screen replaces painted backdrops with sets that change in an instant. From one scene to the next, the same surface can become a starry sky, a city skyline or an abstract animation synchronised with the music.
Stage LED displays must meet specific constraints: slim cabinets that fit into the stage machinery, front access for fast maintenance between performances, and fine image quality for an audience seated close to the stage. Mobile screens add even more possibilities, as on the LED screen stage Lido set-up, where side screens moved during the show.
The KRYPTON and HYDROGEN ranges have since been succeeded by Beryl, Artixium’s current LED display for stages and events. Discover our event LED displays, or contact our team to discuss your own stage project.
