LED Screen Terrace: Eclipse, a Retractable LED Cinema in Saint-Tropez
Private cinema on the Riviera – A high-end luxury destination and meeting place for international personalities, Saint-Tropez now hosts the world’s largest outdoor private cinema. This extraordinary project was imagined, designed, and installed by Artixium, in collaboration with Illusy and Eclipse, featuring a giant 36 m² LED screen.
Named Eclipse, this innovative system embodies the pinnacle of LED technology and high-end mechanical engineering. Fully retractable, the 8-meter wide screen silently rises from the ground in less than one minute, offering an immersive cinematic experience outdoors, accompanied by a state-of-the-art audio system.
Featuring a 16:9 format, vibrant colors, and high contrast, the Eclipse was designed to deliver exceptional image quality, faithful to cinema standards, while integrating perfectly into an exclusive and peaceful environment.
Proton P3.9 at the Heart of Eclipse
To bring this exceptional screen to life, Artixium used the Proton P3.9 (a range since succeeded by Ayrgon 2), predecessor of Proton 2.0, with 144 LED cabinets. This product, recognized for its versatility and robustness, was specially developed to meet the constraints of outdoor and indoor applications.

Why Choose an LED Screen for an Outdoor Cinema or Terrace?
Unlike a projector, an LED screen produces its own light. It remains bright and contrasted outdoors, even before nightfall, and is not affected by ambient lighting around a terrace or a garden.
Outdoor installations must also withstand the weather and blend into their environment. Retractable mechanisms, weather-resistant cabinets and a carefully integrated structure allow a giant screen to be there when needed and invisible the rest of the time, as with this LED screen terrace installation.
The Proton range has since been succeeded by Ayrgon 2, and Artixium designs custom LED displays for exceptional projects. Discover our LED displays for leisure venues, or contact our team.
