A Complete LED Screen Nightclub Installation
For this LED screen nightclub project, Artixium delivered a complete LED installation for Le Plouf, a unique bar and club located aboard a riverboat in Lyon. More than 100 m² of LED screens were integrated throughout the venue to strengthen its festive identity and create a fully immersive visual experience.
The DJ booth features a dedicated 3.69 m² LED screen, while more than 26 m² of side screens surround the dancefloor. LED ceilings complete the installation, covering 24.19 m² in the VIP area and 45.50 m² above the bar. Each display of this LED screen nightclub was tailored to the venue’s architecture, creating a consistent atmosphere throughout every space.
A Personalised LED Display for Nightlife
Artixium designed a personalised LED installation for Le Plouf, chosen for its modularity, reliability and ability to adapt to a venue as unusual as a riverboat. Display formats were drawn up area by area, giving each space its own visual identity.
With brightness reaching up to 6,000 nits and back & front maintenance access, the display meets the technical demands of intensive club use. This installation gives Le Plouf a powerful visual identity and provides complete creative freedom for synchronising dynamic content with music and live performances.
All About Le Plouf Bateau Mousse
Zone by Zone: How the LED Screen Nightclub Comes Together
Le Plouf shows how an LED screen nightclub can be designed as one coherent system rather than a collection of separate displays. Each zone of the boat received a display format matched to its use, its surface and the constraints of the hull, so that guests move from one atmosphere to the next without ever leaving the show.
DJ booth. A dedicated 3.69 m² LED screen frames the DJ and gives the room a clear visual focal point, ideal for artist names, logos and visuals that follow the set.
Dancefloor. More than 26 m² of side screens line the dancefloor, wrapping guests in moving images along both sides of the boat.
VIP area. A 24.19 m² LED ceiling sets the VIP lounge apart with its own atmosphere and content, while remaining visually connected to the rest of the boat.
Bar. The largest surface, a 45.50 m² LED ceiling, turns the space above the bar into a giant canvas visible from across the venue.
Why Choose an LED Screen for a Nightclub?
Compared with projection or lighting alone, a direct-view LED display keeps its colours and contrast in a room full of lasers, spotlights and haze, and it stays seamless across large surfaces. Content can change from one night to the next, for a theme party, a private event, a brand activation or a live performance, without touching the installation. Visuals can also be synchronised with the music, so the screens become part of the show rather than background decoration.
For operators, reliability matters as much as the image. An LED screen nightclub runs late, several nights a week, so modules must be easy to service. With back & front maintenance access, the display allows a module to be replaced quickly, limiting downtime between events. Its modular design also made it possible to follow the venue’s architecture, from vertical walls to ceilings.
Every nightclub is different: ceiling height, structure, viewing distances and the way guests move through the venue all shape the right LED solution. Artixium studies these constraints with each operator to define screen formats, pixel pitch and content workflow, as it did for Le Plouf aboard a riverboat in Lyon.
For bars, clubs and event venues, Artixium designs custom LED displays tailored to each space. Discover our LED displays for leisure and culture venues, or contact our team to discuss your own LED screen nightclub project.
