Artixium is the LED display supplier for the Portals project, which links New York and Dublin through a connected public artwork. Our displays show each city to the other, continuously.
The Portals project between New York and Dublin
Installed in spring, the Portals connect the two cities through a real-time video feed. In New York the Portal stands on Flatiron South plaza, next to the Flatiron Building. In Dublin it faces O’Connell Street, the main street, with the view of the GPO and the Spire.
Iridium, the LED display of the Portals project
The project’s displays are custom-built by Artixium from Iridium, our outdoor Ultra HD LED display: 1.9 mm pixel pitch, GME technology, 4,500 nits brightness, and front and rear maintenance.
A network followed worldwide
Since it began, the Portals network has reached more than a billion people and encourages dialogue between audiences from different cultures.
What comes next
Each new Portal is a step for art in public space, and we are glad to contribute with our LED displays.
